This project has been funded under the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program. This program supports local councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects across Australia, supporting jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic. Upgrades to the Newman Park playground were requested by the community to have safer and better access to the playground. Lack of shade, limited (small) play equipment missing and old sand softfall meant that asset utilisation in the summer months was very limited. Upgrades include a new shade sail, existing softfall upgrade and new play equipment. |
