Community Facility Projects - Wanneroo - Jindinga Park passive park upgrade- security lighting

Project description

This project has been funded under the Australian Government’s Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program – Phase 2.

This program supports local councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects across Australia, supporting jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jindinga Park is a passive, local reserve with a total land area of approximately 1.03ha. The park provides an important pedestrian link from Civic Drive to Wanneroo Road, being a popular route for young people walking through to local schools and to the Wanneroo Showgrounds Skate Park. Visibility is reduced on dark winter mornings and evenings. The community has reported concerns with safety.

This project includes the design and installation of security lighting throughout the park to improve safety and enables use of the park in the evenings for casual use.
