This project has been funded under the Australian Government’s Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program – Phase 2. This program supports local councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects across Australia, supporting jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic. This project will provide a solid operational foundation from which the City can be confident of operating a CCTV system that is fit for purpose now and into the future i.e. compatible with additional systems and cameras. 40 CCTV sites operated by the City will have the operating system upgraded in preparation for future technology implementation. The City will also be well positioned to take on technology advancements such as analytics, as part of The Smart City initiative. What is a Smart City? A city that applies digital technology, data and innovative practices to improve liveability, sustainability and productivity. Smart City strategies are becoming increasingly popular around the globe as they encourage the acceleration of the use of smart technology, improved digital connectivity and drive local innovation. |
