Community Facility Projects - Wangara - Wangara Industrial Area - new CCTV network

Project description

The purpose of the Wangara CCTV network is to assist with monitoring the ingress / egress of vehicles in the industrial area to reduce crime.  The City has been working closely with WA Police during the course of this project.

The new system will consist of the installation of thirteen (13) CCTV to standalone smart poles that will send on demand footage back to the Civic Centre. This project also incorporates Smart City technologies to effectively run the system.

The Wangara Industrial New CCTV Network project was jointly funded by:

  • the Australian Government’s Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program – Phase 3 for the amount of $374,000
  • The LRCI Program supports local councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects across Australia, supporting jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications - “Building Our Future” Community Development Grant for the amount of $850,000 and
  • the City of Wanneroo.
