Coastal Projects - Quinns Rocks - Universal Access Fishing Platform
| Project description |
In 2022/23 a feasibility study was completed on installing a universally accessible recreational fishing platform in Mindarie or Quinns Rocks. The study showed it was feasible to install a universally recreational fishing platform in four locations. Following concept options at these locations, the City completed community and stakeholder engagement and assessed the options through a multi-criteria assessment. The preferred option was identified as Quinns Rocks, extending from groyne 1 adjacent to the Frederick Stubbs carpark. Detailed design of the structure is underway, with completion of detailed design scheduled for December 2025. Approvals and procurement for construction of the fishing platform will be completed by June 2026. Construction of the Quinns Rocks universal access fishing platform is proposed for 2026/27, subject to Council approval. |
