Coastal Projects - Quinns Rocks - Development of a Universal Access Fishing Platform
Project description |
In 2022/23 a feasibility study was completed on installing a universally accessible recreational fishing platform in Mindarie or Quinns Rocks. The study showed it was feasible to install a universally recreational fishing platform in four locations. Following concept options at these locations, the City completed community and stakeholder engagement and assessed the options through a multi-criteria assessment. The preferred option was identified as Quinns Rocks, extending from groyne 1 adjacent to the Frederick Stubbs carpark. Procurement for detailed design of the structure is underway, with completion of detailed design in June 2025. Construction of the Quinns Rocks universal access fishing platform is proposed for 2025/26, subject to Council approval. |
