Explore fascinating photographs, memorabilia and artefacts including wool boots and vests sent overseas for the war effort, and you can view old membership lists to see if your mother, aunty, or grandmother’s name is included. City libraries will also be displaying cookbooks and photographs during this time to celebrate the occasion.

Known for top notch scones, the CWA also has a long history of building and strengthening communities through advocacy, education, service and belonging – from starting the Land Girls to keep providing food to the war effort to advocating for the importance of seatbelts in cars.

The late Margaret Cockman, Freeman of the City, helped form the Wanneroo CWA branch in the 1960s, and won the title of CWA Cash Queen for raising the most money in the state to build the CWA building in Perth.
