2025 Community Art Awards Exhibition

Art Awards 2025

The Wanneroo Community Art Awards is a major feature of the City’s cultural calendar and has been held annually since 2001.

View the 2025 Community Art Awards Exhibition from 21 May to 26 July 2025 at the Wanneroo Regional Gallery.

Opening hours

  • Wednesday to Saturday // 10am to 4pm
  • Closed Monday, Tuesday and Sunday

Each year, as part of the Community Art Awards Exhibition, the City showcases artworks featuring a diversity of talents in the categories of Painting, Works on Paper, Sculpture and Photo, Film and Digital Media.

The exhibition provides an opportunity for artists living in Western Australia to sell their artwork and take home a share of the $19,900 prize pool.

Join millions of people reducing their plastic waste this July!

Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.

The City is running a range of free workshops throughout the month so you can learn more about what happens to your waste and find out how you can reduce you waste and live more sustainably.

 

What’s on in the City

Ditch the gladwrap! Fabric food cover sewing workshop

The Waste Education team are hosting a pop-up workshop where you can stop by and learn to create your own fabric food covers.

  • Tuesday 1 July at Yanchep Central Shopping Centre.
  • 10am to 11am, register online via Eventbrite.
  • 3.30pm to 4.30pm, register online via Eventbrite.

Join us for a fun filled program packed with multi-sensory toys, craft, dress ups and tactile experiences designed to keep your child engaged and entertained as they learn through play.

Community tour of the Cleanaway Material Recovery Facility and CLAW Environmental

Learn how your recycling is sorted and processed on this interactive tour of these two waste facilities.

 

Earthside Eco Bums modern cloth nappy workshop

Learn what cloth nappies are all about, how they work and what you’ll need to get started at this free workshop.

Andy Warhol Collection

The Wanneroo Regional Gallery is proud to present a collection of works from one of the 20th century's most influential artists, Andy Warhol.

Opening hours

  • Wednesday to Saturday // 10am to 4pm
  • Closed Monday, Tuesday, Sunday and public holidays

The Andy Warhol works are a long-term loan from the National Gallery of Australia with support from the Australian Government as part of Sharing the National Collection initiative. The partnership will see the Wanneroo Regional Gallery display over 50 artworks by Andy Warhol over a two-year period, with a small selection of pieces on display and rotated every three months.  

The first rotation of Warhol's Electric chairs series is currently exhibited in a small section of the Gallery to the right side of the City’s main exhibition.

This exhibition contains imagery that may cause distress. 

Andy Warhol’s Electric Chair series may be disturbing or upsetting to some viewers due to its content being associated with capital punishment and death.
