Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

The City of Wanneroo’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), details our commitment continuously working towards improving relationships, opportunities and respect within the City to contribute to reconciliation in Australia.

The 2018/19 – 2021/22 RAP addresses the “Innovate” stage, where the focus is on implementing the City’s unique vision for reconciliation; developing and piloting strategies to achieve outcomes under the three pillars of Relationships, Respect and Opportunities. Council endorsed the 2018/19 – 2021 RAP in May 2018 after it was developed in consultation with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal residents.

The City has a RAP Working Group that comprises of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community members as well as City of Wanneroo Councillors. The RAP Working Group meet quarterly to provide local knowledge, input and guidance into the actions within the RAP, and assist the City to identify any issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and culture.
