Beats and eats flood Girrawheen

Published Tuesday, 12th April 2016

Driving rain didn’t dampen the spirits of thousands of people who braved the elements to attend the City’s annual Global Beats and Eats presented by LiveLighter at Liddell Park, Girrawheen on Saturday

Global beats and eats Dan Sulton
Headliner and multi-ARIA award winning artist Dan Sultan impressed his dedicated fans with hits such as Under Your Skin and The Same Man, his unique rock tunes a perfect end to the festival.

Earlier, ex-busker Kim Churchill showed his talents with incredible guitar work, Phoenix King’s smooth tones and toe-tapping hits really warmed up the crowd while Mambo Chic kicked things off with their distinctive sound.

Audiences also enjoyed hula dancing, drum workshops, Brazilian samba performers and Chinese Lion dancers, while cycle-powered smoothie-making at the health-themed Your Move Wanneroo marquee was extremely popular, as was the Imagination Playground and Game Vault for the kids.

An array of tantalising tastes from Mexican, Middle Eastern, Dutch, South American, Italian and Malaysian cuisines were on offer, to complete the global theme.

The City of Wanneroo would like to thank major sponsors LiveLighter, Healthway, Lotterywest, The Wanneroo Times and Nova 937
