Public Community Events

Thank you for your interest in hosting a public community event in the City of Wanneroo.

The City is committed to supporting events which contribute to the vibrancy of our local community. Events are a great way to strengthen community connectedness, celebrate the community’s cultural heritage and diversity and create a sense of place and belonging.

Hosting an event can be a very complex process, which often requires legislative guidelines to be adhered to. Therefore, it is essential that event organisers notify the City of any public community event being held across the City of Wanneroo by providing all relevant documents within the specified timeframes.

The event approval process is now in two easy steps:

  1. Event Notification – must be completed by all event organisers proposing to hold an event anywhere in the City at least ten (10) weeks in advance. This allows the City to maintain a register of all events occurring throughout the municipality for compliance purposes.
  2. Event Application – must be completed for events occurring on City land or those which require additional approvals relating to food, noise, electrical, facility hire and the like. If applicable, you will be sent an invitation to apply once your Event Notification has been reviewed. This must be submitted at least eight (8) weeks in advance.
