A State Government election commitment project
As part of the McGowan Government's cycling election commitment package, the City of Wanneroo is upgrading the existing 1.5m wide concrete paths on the west side of Koondoola Avenue and Butterworth Avenue to provide 3.0 to 3.5m wide red-asphalt shared paths for the full length of these roads between Marangaroo Drive and Beach Road.
The project is intended to encourage walking and cycling in the community by providing a high quality active transport connection that links residents to local attractions, businesses and facilities in the area.
The project is funded by State Government through a grant administrated by the Department of Transport and forms part of the City’s Active Transport Plan. Construction is planned for completion by June 2023.
