Proposed Single House and Associated Retaining Walls at 19 Barndie Way, Wanneroo (DA2023/1201)

 

The abovementioned development application is currently being advertised for public comment until 18 December 2023.


The application proposes a Single House and associated retaining walls with no setbacks on the northern and southern boundaries. 

 

  • Two retaining walls along the southern lot boundary which includes the following: 
    • The first retaining wall being 7.5m in length and ranges in height from 0.45m to a maximum of 0.6m in height. However, only 0.2m of the retaining wall is above the Natural Ground Level at this portion of the southern boundary; and
    • The second retaining wall is above the Natural Ground Level at this portion of the southern boundary.

    • A single continuous retaining wall along the northern lot boundary being 32.3m in length comprising of: 
      • A 25.2m length being a minimum of 0.2m in height and a maximum of 1.2m in height at the northern boundary; and
      • A 7m length being 0.5m in height.
    • The retaining walls use a combination of panel and post and limestone block construction materials; and
    • The property is intended to be modified to a split level design incorporating a portion at RL 83.80, which is intended to accommodate the dwelling, and a portion at the rear of the poperty which slopes down from RL 83.10 to RL 82.10

    Due to the design, you are invited to provide comment on the proposal with regard to the following Design Principles:

    Respect for the natural ground levels of the site;
