Proposed Change of Use to Reception Centre at 295 Karoborup Road, Carabooda (DA2023/1211)

The abovementioned development application is currently being advertised for public comment until 1 February 2024.

The application proposes a reception centre and recreation private use within the site, details of the proposal are as follows:

Reception Centre

• The reception centre is proposed to host events (primarily weddings) with a limit of 100 people per event. The events will primarily be wedding ceremonies with wedding receptions also proposed but will be limited to 40 patrons after 10pm with receptions concluding at midnight;
• Ceremonies are anticipated to primarily occur Friday to Monday;
• Wedding receptions will operate from 11:00am to Midnight;
• Guests will be permitted to stay over night in self-contained caravans. There will be a limit of 30 caravans on site at any given time and will have a two-night maximum stay; and
• Provision of 25 car bays.

Recreation Private

• The use will be for the operation of yoga and martial arts classes;
• Operating hours are between 9:00am – 6:00pm from Mon – Sun (classes will not operate where there is an event scheduled to occur);
• Classes will run for a period of 1hr with 1-2 classes per day; and
• There will be up to 15 patrons per class.
