Information

Proposed Retaining Walls - 29 Burt Street, Quinns Rocks -  DA2020/102

The above-mentioned development application is currently advertised for public comment until 24 February 2020.

The application proposes retaining walls along the front, side and rear boundaries. The walls vary in height given the topography of the site. Some walls reach a height of 1.91m from natural ground level on the North West boundary, 1m on the South West boundary and 1.68m on the South East boundary. The retaining walls along the front boundary are to a maximum height of 0.5m.

The proposal will be assessed against the Design Principles of State Planning Policy 7.3 – Volume 1 Residential Design Codes (R-Codes). Due to the height of the retaining walls, adjoining owners/occupiers are invited to provide comment on the proposal with regard to the following Design Principles:

  • Amenity;
  • Appropriateness to the locality; and
  • Respect for the natural ground levels of the site.

For more information on the relevant Design Principles, please refer to Clause 5.3.7 and Clause 5.3.8 of the R-Codes, which can be found here: www.dplh.wa.gov.au/rcodes
