What approvals do I need? - Patios
|Description||An open sided structure enclosed on no more than half of its perimeter with a roof cover that is impervious to water and used for outdoor entertainment.|
|Do I need approval?||
Planning Approval (also referred to as Development Approval) may be required for a patio. Should it be required, planning approval must be obtained prior to a building permit being issued.
A Building Permit is required for all patios attached to another building regardless of its size or height. Patios that are 10m2 or less in area, not greater than 2.4m in height and freestanding do not require a building permit.
|What do I need to submit?||
Please refer to the City's DA Checklist - Residential Additions for a complete list of the information required to apply for planning approval.
