Grow your understanding of First Nations cultures and histories through a range of free activities held in the City of Wanneroo to commemorate National NAIDOC Week. 

National NAIDOC Week (6 -13 July) celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Join us for a range of events in the City including:

  • Bush Tucker sessions
  • Noongar Six Seasons Storytime
  • Virtual artwork exhibition
  • Nyungar Culture youth sessions

And much more!

Flag raising ceremony

In addition to the above events, the City is also proud to host an official ceremony raising the Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian flags. 

The event will be led by Derek Nannup and will include a Welcome to Country by aboriginal elder Vaughn McGuire, speech by City of Wanneroo Mayor Linda Aitken, and a memorable cultural performance.

All members of the community are welcome to attend with registrations available via Eventbrite
