Rachel Hanson is a Senior Editor of both fiction and non-fiction at Fremantle Press. After receiving an MA (Professional Writing) from UTS, she began her editorial career in Sydney as a sub-editor and writer for a variety of commercial magazines. After moving to Perth, she spent six years as the Managing Editor for a custom publisher before joining the Press in 2021.
These two Saturday workshops are focussed on how to submit your manuscript to publishers, and tricks and tips for aspiring writers, such as:
- What the current publishing landscape is like
- Discussing different types of publishers and and their submission requirements
- How to prepare your manuscript for submission
- Editing and proof reading
- Dos and don’ts for getting a publisher interested in your manuscript
- How do literary competitions fit in?
- How are manuscripts assessed by publishers
