Harmony Week WA - 15 March to 21 March

The City of Wanneroo is celebrating Harmony Week with a range of community activities designed to celebrate multiculturalism, and encourage inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

You can show your support for Harmony Week by taking part in an activity, or by wearing orange –  the colour of social communication, meaningful conversations, freedom of ideas and mutual respect.

Vietnamese Food Tour

When: Tuesday 21 March // 10am to 12pm
Where: Girrawheen Library, 6 Patrick Court, Girrawheen

Join celebrity chef and author of Eat Like a Viet, Jenny Lam, on her tour of essential food ingredients for Vietnamese cooking in Girrawheen's local supermarket.

Jenny will introduce you to some of the important products and ingredients to buy when planning a Vietnamese meal.

Bali in Motion at Wanneroo Library

When: Tuesday 21 March // 1pm to 1:50pm
Where: Girrawheen Library, 6 Patrick Court, Girrawheen

Bali in Motion provides communities with the opportunity to experience a true taste of Balinese cultural activities!

Music, dance and the visual arts form a foundation for traditional Balinese life, and myths and legends are incorporated into these arts. Bali in Motion is a colourful and interactive program, which highlights the harmony within the Balinese culture.

Suitable for all ages.

It’s All About the Past at the Wanneroo Regional Museum

When: Wednesday 15 March // 10am to 12:30pm
Where: Wanneroo Regional Museum, Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre, 3 Rocca Way, Wanneroo

Come join in the fun at the Wanneroo Regional Museum for this Harmony Week themed session.

You and your child can explore the past together through games, stories, crafts and real artefacts. Activities are self-led with staff on hand to provide ideas on how to enjoy your time at the museum.

Suitable for children aged 2-5 years. Adults must stay and play.

It’s All About Stories at Clarkson and Yanchep/Two Rocks libraries

Introduce children to the world of books, encourage a love of reading, stimulate imagination and enable social interaction with other children outside the home.

This Harmony Week themed session is suitable for ages 2 to 5 years.

Harmony Week Twilight Picnic

When: Friday 24 March // 4:30pm
Where: Ashdale Primary School, Ashdale Blvd, Darch

Join in the festival fun at the Harmony Week Twilight Picnic!

There will be multicultural dancers and performers, children’s activities, and a choice of exquisite global cuisine to tantalise your tastebuds.

This free community event is hosted by Ashdale Primary School, and proudly supported by the City of Wanneroo, through the City’s Community Funding program.
