Development of a new tourism and hospitality venue at the former caravan park site at Lot 211 (2) Quinns Road Mindarie will continue to the next stage as council voted to proceed with an agreement for lease and ground lease for the redevelopment. The development will include ecotourism accommodation (glamping), café and event space (including accessible community space), privately funded, developed and operated by a third party proponent.
Council considered the lease arrangement as well as responses received as part of the project’s local public notice period at its Ordinary Council Meeting on 12 December 2023. Council’s approval followed earlier stages of the project, which had included community engagement during late 2022 and early 2023 (as reported to the Special Council Meeting on 1 August 2023).
The next stage of the project will see the proponent submit the development application to the Western Australian Planning Commission for determination.
Note: Concept designs are as at December 2023. Minor changes may occur as part of the State planning approval process.
