Community funding
The City of Wanneroo is proud to celebrate and support its vibrant, diverse community.
We provide funding for local projects and initiatives that align with our strategic goals and deliver lasting benefits for residents, visitors and workers. Eligible activities may include community-focused events, programs that strengthen resilience, and projects that promote long-term sustainability.
If you’re planning to apply for community funding, we recommend reviewing the community funding guidelines and application package and the City’s Community Funding Policy before submitting your application, to ensure your proposal meets all the requirements.
The City has four main community funding streams:
- Community grants support co-funded, community-led projects that provide opportunities for the local community to come together to learn, celebrate and strengthen local connections.
- Kickstarter funding encourages residents, community groups and local businesses to work together on small-scale, low-cost projects that activate public spaces in their local area.
- Participation funding supports individuals to participate in sporting, arts or cultural events and competitions.
- Flagship funding supports experienced not-for-profit community organisations to deliver initiatives that recognise, celebrate or commemorate the City’s rich history and diverse culture.
Applications for these streams open at different times throughout the year. Visit the online funding portal to explore the latest funding opportunities.
