As mentioned previously, no final decisions on the proposed rate in the dollar have been made. Council is currently reviewing all aspects of the 20/21 budget, including the proposed rate in the dollar and all related community feedback, which will inform final outcomes.

Council remains committed to developing a budget which achieves a 0% increase in rates revenue as resolved in April 2020. To achieve this the City has already identified multi-million dollar reductions to its proposed operational and capital works budgets and will be utilising reserve funds to develop a number of relief and support packages to help ratepayers, the community, local businesses and the local economy recover from the impacts of COVID-19.

As a growth council, the City of Wanneroo has always strived to deliver economical and financially sound budgets that ensure its community’s needs are met and this year will be no different.

Council looks forward to announcing its final Budget at the end of June 2020.
