Notice of Proposal to Make a Local Law

The City of Wanneroo is intending to make the following Local Laws.

Civic Centre

Penalty Units Local Law

The purpose of the local law is to set the amount of a penalty unit where referred to in any of the City's local laws.

The effect where a local law refers to a penalty unit, the amount is as set in the Penalty Units local law.

Parking Local Law

The purpose of the local law is to enable the City to regulate the parking of vehicles within the district and provide for the management and operation of parking facilities under the City's care, control and management.

The effect is that a person parking a vehicle within the parking region is to comply with the provisions of the local law.

Waste Management Local Law

The purpose of the local law is to regulate the storage, collection and disposal of waste and refuse from residential premises and on waste facilities in the City.

The effect is that unless otherwise authorise, the storage, collection and disposal of waste and refuse within the City must be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the local law.

Public Places and Local Government Property Local Law

The purpose of this local law is to regulate the care, control and management of property under the care, control and management of the City including thoroughfares.

The effect is that some City property is set aside for particular uses, some activities are allowed only under a permit or under a determination, and others are restricted or prohibited. The local law also establishes offences for inappropriate behaviour in or on City property.

The proposed local laws my be inspected at or obtained from the City of Wanneroo, 23 Dundebar Road, Wanneroo and from each of the City of Wanneroo libraries during opening hours.
