Dogs' day out no dog's breakfast

Published Thursday, 30th October 2014

Not even rain could stop thousands of Western Australians attending Sunday's Dogs Breakfast presented by ADVANCE at Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex.

Dogs Breakfast 2014

Hundreds of dogs and their families had a pawesome time at the City of Wanneroo's annual day of pet appreciation.

City rangers were kept busy accepting registrations ahead of the 1 November annual renewal deadline and 45 exhibitors offered products and services especially for pets, including photography sessions and beach wear.

Dogs Breakfast competitions were a big hit with attendees, with entrant places almost exhausted across the four categories.

Competition rivalry was fierce, particularly in Date My Dog where the bachelor, German Shepherd, Deezal, rejected the judges' pick and personally selected the Labrador cross, Holly, who placed third.

All 40 spots were filled for the day's most popular competition, Next Top Dog Model, where judges were looking for the best dressed pooch. Entrants included a pug dressed as a sunflower and the winner was a bull terrier dressed like a biker.

Winston and Ruby took out the best stall award for their display of premium pet products and doggy candy bar.

Check the City's Facebook page for photo galleries from the day and shots from the photobooth.
