Mark National Reconciliation Week in the City of Wanneroo

Published Monday, 26th May 2025

National Reconciliation Week offers all Australians the opportunity to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.

National Reconciliation Week 2025

Running from 27 May to 3 June, the City is proudly marking the week with free events and activities, including a special screening of the 1980 Aboriginal Country Music Festival on Wednesday 28 May at the Wanneroo Regional Museum.

This year’s theme – Bridging Now to Next – calls on all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.

The City will be hosting drop-in sessions at the Wanneroo Regional Museum, where children can enjoy a range of engaging National Reconciliation Week themed activities.

Once again, the City has sponsored a Reconciliation Week Street Banner to be displayed along Kings Park Road in West Perth as part of an annual initiative facilitated by Reconciliation WA.

The City is also currently finalising its fifth Reconciliation Action Plan, a key document detailing the City’s commitment to continuously working towards improving relationships, opportunities and respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians.
