Fun, festivals and free entertainment in City’s Signature Event Series
Published Wednesday, 3rd September 2025
The City of Wanneroo’s 2025/26 Signature Events Series will bring music, culture and community spirit to Perth’s northern corridor from October through to May.

With more than ten flagship events lined up, the series promises concerts under the stars, buzzing festivals, food trucks, markets and cultural celebrations – all free for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Mayor Linda Aitken said the Signature Events Series was about more than entertainment, with flow-on benefits for the whole community.
“These events turn our parks, beaches and town centres into lively festival spaces and give people new ways to enjoy their neighbourhoods,” she said.
“They encourage people to get out, connect with others and experience their suburb in a new light. Whether it’s enjoying a concert on the foreshore, watching fireworks light up the night sky or wandering through a bustling market, there is something special about sharing those moments with friends and neighbours.”
Mayor Aitken said the series also provided a valuable platform for local talent and businesses.
“We’re lucky to have such incredible performers, artists and vendors right here in Wanneroo. The Signature Events Series gives them a chance to showcase their creativity and reach new audiences,” she said.
“From musicians on stage to food trucks serving up local flavours, these events celebrate the talent and entrepreneurship that make our City vibrant. They also support our small business community and boost local tourism by drawing visitors to our parks, town centres and beaches.”
A highlight of the series will be Symphony Under The Stars at Kingsway Sporting Complex on 21 February 2026. The much-loved concert will feature fireworks, a 70-piece orchestra and the winner of the popular Search for a Star competition, which gives local singers the chance to step on stage and perform in front of thousands.
“Search for a Star captures everything this series is about – celebrating local talent, creating unforgettable experiences and making sure our community feels proud of what the City of Wanneroo has to offer,” she said.
“I can’t wait to see the incredible voices that come forward this year, and to watch one of our own take centre stage alongside a full orchestra!”
Entries for Search for a Star close at 5pm on Friday 17 October 2025. Performers can submit a video of themselves singing a number one hit from the past 40 years. Finalists will head to a live audition on 8 November, with the winner performing centre stage at Symphony under the Stars.
