Exhibition explores artists’ connection to the coastline
Published Thursday, 23rd October 2025
Opening at Wanneroo Regional Gallery this month, Present in the Current features the work of three local artists, Warrick Palmateer, Matthew Bettinaglio and Lee Jessamin.

From their mutual love of surfing to their own personal relationships with the Yanchep coastline, the exhibition is an exploration of each artist’s human connection to the ocean.
Wanneroo Mayor Linda Aitken said she was thrilled to see the City hosting an exhibition featuring artwork created by local artists and inspired by local places.
“Our City has a thriving art community and I’m passionate about helping local artists gain exposure, as well as inspiring new up and coming artists to develop their own artistic practises,” she said.
“Present in the Current features an engaging mix of ceramics, photography and film, and I encourage you to come along to the gallery and experience it for yourself.”
