New Deputy Mayor elected to Council

Councillor Dianne Guise, Central Ward, has been elected as the City’s new Deputy Mayor for 2015.

Prior to being elected to Council in 2009, Cr Guise served as the Member for Wanneroo and was the Deputy Speaker in the Legislative Assembly of the WA Parliament.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts congratulated Cr Guise on being elected to the
role.

“We are proud to have Cr Guise in the role of Deputy Mayor, she is an active member of the
City and an advocate for many significant causes within the community,” she said.

Mayor Roberts also acknowledged the commitment of former Deputy Mayor, Cr Dot Newton
JP.

“I extend my sincerest appreciation and gratitude to Cr Newton for her experience and
dedication during her term as Deputy Mayor 2013 – 2015.

“We are indeed very fortunate that Cr Newton remains on Council as a Central Ward
Councillor," she said.
