Campaign encourages drivers to slow down

Motorists in the City of Wanneroo are being asked to take part in a campaign that promotes slower and safer driving in local streets.
Free bumper stickers with the slogan ‘I Slow Down in Wanneroo’ are available from the Civic Centre and the City’s libraries.
City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the ‘I Slow Down in Wanneroo’ initiative will complement the ‘Road Ribbon for Road Safety’ campaign currently underway for the festive season.
“I encourage our community to embrace this new campaign which reminds drivers that everyone has a responsibility to drive safely,” she said.
“Many families and children are present on local streets and slowing down is crucial, as is taking into account road conditions and other road users.
“I urge drivers to display the ‘I Slow Down in Wanneroo’ stickers on their cars to support the campaign and remind other motorists of the safety benefits of slowing down.”
