City offers MYZONE heart monitors at Aquamotion

Published Wednesday, 10th February 2016

In a first for local governments in the Perth metro area, the City of Wanneroo has installed MYZONE heart monitor systems on its gym equipment at Aquamotion.

Myzone
Gym goers can now purchase a MYZONE belt for $99 – equipment that normally has a retail price of $199 – and track and monitor their heart rates as they exercise.

The technology guarantees accurate and personalised results to help those exercising make the most of their workouts.

“The City recognises the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and the new MYZONE monitors are another way to encourage our residents to exercise regularly,” Mayor Tracey Roberts said.

“The MYZONE monitor allows users to track their workout efforts, encouraging them to exercise more efficiently,” she said.
When a user wears the activity belt within a MYZONE enabled area of Wanneroo Aquamotion, the information streams to displays in the form of a colour coded, easy to read tile.

MYZONE features a unique point system that levels the playing field no matter how fit residents are and rewards effort, not fitness.

MYZONE can also be linked to the free MYZONE app to stream activity outside of the centre, allowing users to upload their data and review results from their smartphone. The app also features activity calendars, workout graphs and challenges. Other options include a food diary feature and the chance to upload before and after photos for further motivation.
