Quinns Beach gets fresh new look with the installation of some brightly coloured mosaic art.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said photos from the local community were used as inspiration for the mosaic, so it would reflect the history of Quinns Rocks and the beach lifestyle of the area.

“It is wonderful to see the public art that can now be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. So much work has gone in to every mosaic piece and the art will be cherished by generations to come,” Mayor Roberts said.

The ‘Couple with Dinghy’ mosaic was inspired by a photo of Elaine and Jack Barlow in the 1950’s. Jack was one of Quinns Rocks’ first residents in the 1930s, a well-respected community member who also has a local park named after him.

The new mosaics can be seen on the beachfront opposite Salty’s. It’s hoped the art will add a sense of place and become a well-loved feature for the Quinns community.

The new mosaic is sure to be a talking point amongst locals who will have one more reason to visit their popular beach.
