Newly elected councillors are Paul Miles (Central Ward), Sonet Coetzee and Lewis Flood (both North Coast Ward).

Returning councillors are Domenic Zappa and Hugh Nguyen (both South Ward), Dot Newton (Central Ward) and Linda Aitken (North Coast Ward).

Mayor Tracey Roberts congratulated her fellow elected members on their successful election.

“I look forward to working with all of our councillors as we represent the best interests of our community and strive to make the City of Wanneroo a vibrant place that our residents are proud to call home,” Mayor Roberts said.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our former councillors Di Guise (Central Ward) and Glynis Parker (North Coast Ward) for all of their hard work and dedication to the community and City of Wanneroo over the years.”

The newly formed Council will attend a Special Council Meeting on 31 November.

Under the Local Government Act, a Special Council Meeting must be held to decide committee memberships for the Deputy Mayor and elected members.

The Ordinary Council Meeting agenda for the Tuesday 14 November meeting will be available from the City’s libraries, Civic Centre and website from Friday 10 November.

Members of the public are welcome to attend both events:

  • Monday 23 October 6.00pm
Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony (Jacaranda Amphitheatre, rear Civic Centre) followed by a Swearing in Ceremony (Council Chambers)
  • Tuesday 31 October 6.00pm
Special Council Meeting (Council Chambers, Civic Centre)
