Action Plan response to Office of the Auditor General Staff Exit Performance Audit

In accordance with section 7.12A of the Local Government Act 1995 the action plan linked below has been provided to the Minister for Local Government on 27 September in response to the OAG report on Staff Exit Performance Audit of large Local Government entities 2024.

 

Notice of Proposal to Make a Local Law - Cats Amendment Local Law 2024

The City of Wanneroo has made a local law titled Cats Amendment Local Law 2024 which comes into effect from 8 October 2024.

The purpose of the amendment is to correct typographical and reference errors.

The effect of the local law is to ensure that the Wanneroo Cats Local Law 2023 is compliant with the local law making process.

The local law may be inspected at the City’s offices at 23 Dundebar Road, Wanneroo during normal office hours.

Notification of Partial Road Closure - Road Resurfacing Night Works – Intersection of Hester Avenue and Connolly Drive, Merriwa

The City, as part of its 2024/2025 Capital Works Program, is proceeding with upgrades to improve the roundabout at the intersection of Hester Avenue and Connolly Drive, Merriwa. These works commenced on 15 April 2024 and are expected to be completed by the end of October 2024.

The road resurfacing portion of these works will need to be carried out over three (3) night shifts. Details of closure:

  • 7 – 9 October 2024, between the hours of 7pm and 4am.
  • This intersection will be partially closed to the public during the above dates and times only.
  • Variable Message Boards will be in place to provide advanced notification of this partial road closure/night works to commuters.

Temporary traffic management will be implemented to safely manage traffic and pedestrians around the worksite, which will remain in place for the duration of these works. Whilst it is inevitable that works of this nature will cause some inconvenience, every endeavour will be made to ensure this is kept to a minimum.

Notification of Road Closure - Road Resurfacing Night Works at Gnangara Road between Rigali Way and Hartman Drive in Madeley/Wangara

The City, as part of its 2024/2025 Capital Works Program, is proceeding with the resurfacing of Gnangara Road between Rigali Way and Hartman Drive in Madeley/Wangara. Works will commence on 3 September 2024 with completion anticipated within two (2) weeks.

The renewal portion of works will need to be carried out over four (4) night shifts. Details of closure:

  • 3 - 6 September 2024, between the hours of 7pm and 5.30am.
  • Gnangara Road will be completely closed to the public during the above dates and times only.  
  • Variable message boards have been in place on Gnangara Road to communicate this road closure/night works to commuters.

Adoption of Local Law - Bush Fire Brigades Local Law 2024

The City of Wanneroo has made a Bush Fire Brigades Local Law 2024 which comes into effect on 12 July 2024.

The purpose of the local law is to make provisions about the establishment and organisation of bush fire brigades.

The effect of the local law is to align the City of Wanneroo’s Bush Fire Brigade Local Law with changes in the law and operational practices.

The local law may be inspected at the City’s offices at 23 Dundebar Road, Wanneroo during normal office hours.
