Wangara Greens Recycling Facility

The Wangara Greens Recycling Facility accepts clean greens from the public and creates mulch for resale. 100% of the garden organics are recovered, with no residual waste going to landfill.

Greenwaste

Access to the site is free with a valid 'Greenwaste Tipping Voucher'.

  • Four Greenwaste Tipping Vouchers are included with your annual rates notice. From 2021/2022 these vouchers have changed to a smarter and more efficient digital process, and will be scanned and recorded upon use via a QR code.
While there is no need to tear out individual vouchers anymore, please continue to present your vouchers for scanning either in print or through your mobile device. Please ensure any printed vouchers are not damaged and the QR code is legible.
  • Tenants can contact their landlord or property manager to obtain their vouchers.
  • Each voucher allows the disposal of a standard 6x4 trailer-load of clean greens at no charge, at the Wangara Greens Recycling Facility only.

If you have any further queries about the vouchers, please see our FAQ page.

Entry fees without a valid Greenwaste Tipping Voucher

  • $22 for a car
  • $37.50 for a ute
  • $37.50 for a car and trailer up to half a tonne

Purchase of mulch (shredded green waste)

Mulching your garden lowers evaporation and water requirements, aids water dispersal and can help to reduce weeds.

  • Two free mulch vouchers are included with your annual rates notice.
  • You can purchase mulch without a valid mulch voucher - $34.50 per cubic metre.

Compost

You can purchase bags of compost for $5.75 each, or 6 bags free with a voucher.

If you have further queries about the vouchers, please see our FAQ page.

Note: all trailer loads must be tarped when travelling.

Recycling drop-off

A free recycling pass is included with your annual rates notice. This voucher can be used an unlimited amount of times throughout the year and should be presented to the attendant when dropping off recyclables.
While there is no need to tear out individual vouchers anymore, please continue to present your vouchers for scanning either in print or through your mobile device. Please ensure any printed vouchers are not damaged and the QR code is legible.
