Community funding program

The City proudly provides opportunities for community groups and organisations to apply for funding support through the Community Funding Program.

Funding Information 

The October 2017 round of community  funding will open at 9am on Monday 4 September 2017 and close at 4pm Friday 13 October 2017. This round is open for Category A, B and C funding only (see descriptions below) for projects, activities and events commencing late January/early February 2018 onwards. 

The application form can be viewed at any time by clicking on the link below however, on-line completion of the form cannot commence until the round opens.

Groups are encouraged to plan early, read the Community Funding Guidelines and consider whether a project, activity or event idea is eligible for community funding.  

Once deciding to make an application, potential applicant groups should identify the relevant ward relating to the group’s suburb location within the City of Wanneroo and/or in which ward their  project, activity or event will occur. Please see below for the list of suburbs in each of the City’s three wards. Once you have identified the appropriate ward, please contact Elenie Kolitsis Community Funding Officer, phone 9405 5951 or email: to discuss your project, activity or event idea as well as eligibility requirements. 

South Ward - Woodvale, Wangara, Gnangara, Madeley, Darch, Landsdale, Marangaroo, Alexander Heights, Girrawheen, Koondoola.

Central Ward - Carabooda, Pinjar, Nowergup, Neerabup, Carramar, Banksia Grove, Tapping, Marginiup, Ashby, Sinagra, Jandabup, Wanneroo, Hocking, Pearsall.

North Coast Ward - Two Rocks, Yanchep, Eglinton, Alkimos, Jindalee, Butler, Quinns Rocks, Merriwa, Ridgewood, Mindarie, Clarkson, Tamala Park.

Available funding categories:

Category A - Community Development Funding

Projects and activities that contribute to the growth and enrichment of community life in the City of Wanneroo.
Twice a year in March and October 

Category B - Community Event Funding

Community-based events developed and conducted across the City of Wanneroo
Twice a year in March and October

Category C - Hallmark Event Funding

Events that contribute to the City of Wanneroo’s history and identity. Events identified as ‘Hallmark’ include Australia Day, ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day. 
Every 3 years (next consideration due in 2017)

Category D - Christmas Community Celebration Event Funding

Events recognising the City of Wanneroo's commitment to support and celebrate the community.
Every 5 years (next consideration due in 2018)

Important Dates:

September 2017: Community Funding applications open
October 2017: Community Funding applications close
November 2017: Community Funding Working Group assessment and recommendation.  
December 2017: Council approval of Community Funding applications.
