Community funding program

The City proudly provides opportunities for community groups and organisations to apply for funding support through the Community Funding Program.

Funding Information 

The next community funding round will open in February 2019 and is timed to support project and events commencing from July 2019 onwards.

To submit an application for this round of funding, applicants should:

  1. Plan early.
  2. Read the Community Funding Guidelines.
  3. Consider all eligibility requirements. . 
  4. Contact Elenie Kolitsis, Community Funding Officer, phone 9405 5951 or email: communityfunding@wanneroo.wa.gov.au to discuss their proposed application.
  5. Attend a Community Funding information session (information below).

The Community Funding Officer’s role is to assist applicants through the community funding application process and ensure each application is viable for selection.

Attendance at a Community Funding information session is recommended for any eligible applicant group particularly those not previously in receipt of community funding.  Several sessions are offered throughout the year with details of the next session below:

Other opportunities can be arranged for small group sessions or one-to-one guidance. 

The application form can be viewed at any time by clicking on the link below however, on-line completion of the form cannot commence until the round opens.  

Available funding categories:

Category A - Community Development Funding

Description
Projects and activities that contribute to the growth and enrichment of community life in the City of Wanneroo.
Availability
Twice a year in March and October 

Category B - Community Event Funding

Description
Community-based events developed and conducted across the City of Wanneroo
Availability
Twice a year in March and October

Category C - Hallmark Event Funding

Description
Events that contribute to the City of Wanneroo’s history and identity. Events identified as ‘Hallmark’ include Australia Day, ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day. 
Availability
Every 3 years (next consideration due in 2018)

Category D - Christmas Community Celebration Event Funding

Description
Events recognising the City of Wanneroo's commitment to support and celebrate the community.
Availability
Every 5 years (next consideration due in 2019)

Important Dates:

September 2018: Community Funding applications open
October 2018: Community Funding applications close
November 2018: Community Funding Working Group assessment and recommendation. 
December 2018: Council approval of Community Funding applications.
