Dordaak Kepap - Library and Youth Innovation Hub project

Overview
The City of Wanneroo has secured $3 million State Government funding as part of the WA Recovery Plan, towards construction of Dordaak Kepap (pronounced Dor-dark Kep-up, meaning Place of Living Waters) Library and Youth Innovation Hub in Landsdale. The name represents the site’s location that overlooks the lake in Broadview Park, that’s within a complex network of culturally significant wetlands, and embodies a place that will be alive with creativity and learning.
The Landsdale facility will feature a library, function and meeting rooms, and youth innovation spaces including a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) room, gaming room, demonstration kitchen, podcasting room, and recording studio.
Detailed design is now complete and the tender for construction is set to go out in November 2023.
Construction is anticipated to commence early in 2024 and is estimated to be completed mid-2025.
