North-East Ward

The North-East Ward is home to a mix of urban and rural suburbs from Merriwa to Nowergup.

Clarkson has a vast amount of facilities and amenities, including the Library which offers a selection of family activities and events as well as online resources for the ward’s diverse multi-cultural community.

There is also a range of community centres, youth centres, sports clubs and amenities for all to enjoy, including Clarkson Skate Park and a popular BMX track.

The North-East Ward benefits from an abundance of local parks and open spaces. Halesworth Park in Butler has already undergone upgrades to its two multi-sport ovals and children’s play area, with further upgrades to the sports pavilion to come. Dalvik Park in Merriwa has also received a recent upgrade and now has a dedicated seniors’ recreation space.

Upgrades are also underway to the Clarkson Youth Centre in line with feedback from local community groups.

Council priorities for the North-East Ward include improving access and inclusion for all members of our community. Council advocates for opportunities for people to come together and connect at a range of events and activities; as well as conservation, including the protection of native plants and animals.

Suburbs: Butler, Merriwa, Ridgewood, north Clarkson, Nowergup.
