The inaugural Flagship Funding program will provide monetary assistance to enable the eight community run organisations to deliver a series of annual events over the next three years.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said she was pleased to see so many local groups planning events that will benefit their communities.

“The City would not be the amazing, vibrant, inclusive place it is without the passion and hard work of these community groups,” Mayor Roberts said.

“The Flagship Fund was developed to help community groups deliver initiatives that celebrate and commemorate Wanneroo’s rich history and diverse culture. The commitment of funding for three years allows the groups to plan their events with certainty and enables a streamlined application process.

“Council look forward to seeing these community groups deliver a fantastic array of events to entertain, educate and acknowledge fellow community members in the spirit of the City of Wanneroo.”
