Proposals for a modern caravan park, to replace the now closed Quinns Rocks facility, will be guided by a new Councillor Working Group.

The City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts - a member of the group - says it will be tasked with ensuring the expectations of both Council and the community are met.

“This is an important project which aligns with our Strategic Community Plan, of creating vibrant, active communities with quality facilities and services,” Mayor Roberts said.

“The aim is to create a stylish, up to date park, with serviced sites for caravans, campervans and recreational vehicles for short stay visitors.  Consideration will also be given to a small number of park homes available for short term hire.

“We will hold community information sessions during the redevelopment process to keep residents informed of the City’s plans and progress.”

The redevelopment will be subject to Western Australian Planning Commission approval.

Expressions of interest will be sought from experienced and qualified caravan park operators for the upgrade and management of the park.

Decommissioning works continue at the site.  Buildings, including the old manager’s office and residence, and the bathroom block, have already been demolished.
