Strategic Community Plan Review
Get involved to help us plan for the next decade
The City is reviewing its highest level planning document - the Strategic Community Plan.
The Strategic Community Plan 2020 will detail the City’s vision and aspirations for the next decade and will set out the key strategies and actions required to achieve them.
The City’s Strategic Community Plan requires valuable input from residents, ratepayers, businesses and community groups and will be undertaking extensive consultation to understand the needs and desires of these important stakeholders.
Ways to have your say
During the engagement period there will be many ways for you to learn more about the Strategic Community Plan, have a say or get involved.
This includes our online survey, which is available now, and upcoming forums and workshops.
If you have any queries please contact our Corporate Business Planning Advisor Dean Kerry – See contact details below.
See further details on this page for coming activities and other ways to have a say.
Under the Local Government Act and regulations, Councils are required to undertake a major review of the City’s Strategic Community Plan every three years.
The City has engaged consultants Delos Delta to assist with the stakeholder engagement requirements for the project which will also provide input into the development of a Smart City strategy, assist with a review of the City’s current Community Development led plans and provide basic initial input into the review of the City’s Local Planning Strategy.
Key engagement activities will include:
- Council Member Strategic Workshops/Forums
- Internal Employee Engagement
- External Community Engagement tailored as required with the following groups (as a minimum):
- First Nations People;
- Middle Years;
- Early Years;
- People with a Disability;
- Multicultural Communities;
- Community Groups;
- Those experiencing Homelessness or At Risk Groups (e.g. Family Domestic Violence and Drugs and Alcohol);
- Public Health (Objective 1 and 3 of State Public Health Plan); and
