From March 2024, the Wanneroo Regional Gallery will host an exhibition featuring the iconic works of one of the 20th century's most influential artists, Andy Warhol.
This exclusive showcase, brought to Wanneroo as part of the National Gallery of Australia's (NGA) Sharing the National Collection initiative, will present Warhol's most iconic works including Elvis, the Campbell's Soup Can suite, the complete Mick Jagger portraits series, the infamous Electric Chairs, and rarely seen Spring Flowers.
The exhibition is poised to introduce these masterpieces to a new generation of Western Australian audiences.
Under the auspices of the Sharing the National Collection initiative, this exhibition marks a significant collaboration between the NGA and Wanneroo Regional Gallery with the collection remaining in West Australia for a two-year period with rotating exhibitions every three months, allowing for extended engagement and additional exhibitions and programs, fostering collaborations with local creatives and enriching the cultural landscape of the region.

This exhibition shows how ‘crafting’ – traditionally considered women’s work – can be used for political expression and social change.
Changemakers consists of eight textile banners that represent a range of historical and contemporary activist movements including the women’s suffrage campaign, as well as banners displayed in town halls and churches.
Many of the social issues raised by early activists remain vitally relevant today, including equal pay, sexual harassment, family violence, and female representation in Parliament and business.
