Year 1: Work and play at Cockman House - 90 minutes duration
When: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (March to November) // mornings: 9:30am to 11:30am - afternoons: 12:30pm to 2pm
This highly interactive program focuses on students comparing their own lives to the children who lived in Cockman House. Hands-on chores, old-fashioned games and the creation of a peg doll are features of this enquiry program.

Year 2/3: History Hunters - 90 minutes duration
When: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (March to November) // mornings: 9:30am to 11:30am - afternoons: 12:30pm to 2pm
Students help to create a timeline of major events in the history of Cockman House, and reflect on how geography and changes in society over time have shaped family life. Students also explore the house and grounds, discovering clues and completing hands-on activities to uncover how technology and life have changed over time. The session closes with a mindful drawing task to reflect on the significance of Cockman House.

Year 5: Children and the Swan River Colony - 90 minutes duration
When: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (March to November) // mornings: 9:30am to 11:30am - afternoons: 12:30pm to 2pm
How did children contribute to the early Swan River Colony? To investigate this question, students will help to create a timeline investigating the reasons for the founding of the Swan River Colony and its difficult early years and the significant impacts on Noongar people, interwoven with key events in the life of James Cockman and his family. Students will then explore a range of historical sources and hands on activities around the house and grounds focused on the varied roles played by children in contributing to the development of the early Swan River Colony.

- Adults are free of charge.
We require a ratio of at least one adult to five students. Additional adult helpers are always welcome.

Year 1-3: online incursion - 30 to 40 minutes duration
When: Term time (times are flexible)
This program encourages student inquiry and questioning. We provide you with in-class activities focusing on Cockman House as a locally significant place, examine changes in family life and comparisons of domestic technology over time. The online incursion enables students to ask questions directly to the presenter located at Cockman House to extend their research and curiosity about the past. The incursion can be tailored to your class needs.

Double program options
Cockman House and Wanneroo Regional Museum OR two programs at Wanneroo Regional Museum
When: Fridays (March to November) - 9:30am to 2pm
Duration: 4 hours
Why not make a day of it and do a double program? Our museum is just a five minute drive up the road from Cockman House and illuminates the larger stories of continuity and change in people’s lives and land use in the Wanneroo community.
Alternatively, you could enjoy a combination of two diverse museum programs.
Two classes are able to visit on the same day for double programs: the classes each do a different program, then swap over after lunch.

Facilitated program cost per half-day (one session= minimum of 20 students, maximum of 35 students)
- 20-24 students: $240.00 (inc. GST)
- 25-29 students: $300.00 (inc. GST)
- 30-35 students: $340.00 (inc. GST)
Two class groups in one day:
- 40-49 students: $480.00 (inc. GST)
- 50-59 students: $600.00 (inc. GST)
- 60-70 students: $680.00 (inc. GST)
