Parking
There is free parking at the nearby Wanneroo Shopping Centre.
Public transport
Wanneroo Museum is accessible via Transperth bus 467, 468, or 389. There is a bus drop off on Dundebar Road.
Use “Wanneroo library (landmark)” in the Transperth Journey Planner. The library is in the same building as the museum.
Entry
Wanneroo Museum is on the ground floor of the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre.
Look for the little red truck at the Museum entrance.

Busy times
Our quietest day tends to be Saturday in the afternoon. Please ring ahead on 9405 5920 if you’d like to check how busy it is on the day you want to visit.
Visual supports
Before your visit, you can print out the visual supports and checklist to help you make a plan of your visit to the museum.
Visual story
Our visual stories provide a reassuring guide of what to expect when visiting the museum. If you are planning a visit with someone who is feeling a little anxious, it may be useful to print this out or read it online with them a few times prior to your visit. We also have copies available at the museum.
Sensory friendly map
The sensory friendly map identifies areas in the museum that may be noisy, and shows seating and hands-on play areas.
Staff support and the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Lanyard Scheme
Wanneroo Regional Museum is a member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Lanyard Scheme and our trained front-of-house staff will be wearing the sunflower supporter lanyard. Please feel free to say hello or ask for assistance from our staff at any time.

We also have the sunflower lanyards available at our front desk if you would like to borrow these as a discreet way of letting us know if someone in your group has a hidden disability.
Sensory backpacks
Our sensory backpacks contain fidgets linked to museum themes, a torch, magnifying glass, a visual checklist, scavenger hunt activity and visiting story. Please ask our friendly staff if you or someone in your group would like to borrow one of these for your visit.
Ear muffs and timers
These are both available at our front desk – please ask our staff if you or someone in your group would like to borrow them.
Quiet/time-out space
If the museum is quiet, the children’s area can provide a suitable time out space. However, if that is busy, please see our front-of-house staff and we will do our best to find a suitable space in our building as quickly as possible to meet your needs.
Please feel free to call ahead before your visit on 9405 5920 if you think someone in your visiting group might require a quiet space.
Information and audio guides
A Choice Board designed for use in the Museum is available from the information desk at the main entrance. You can also print this out for your visit. We do not currently have audio guides.
Museum access
ACROD parking
There are ACROD parking bays immediately in front of the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre Building on Rocca Way.
There is free parking at the nearby Wanneroo shopping centre. Please note there is a slight upwards incline when walking from the shopping carpark to the cultural centre building.
The entry has a ramped access and steps at the front of the building, and a flat entry at the side of the building. Entry to the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre and museum is via self-opening doors.
Wheelchair access and mobility support
The Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre and museum are fully wheelchair accessible.
The museum has a wheelchair available for use. Please call us on 9405 5920 or email: museum@wanneroo.wa.gov.au to check for availability.
We have chairs with armrests throughout the museum.
Guide and assistance dogs
We welcome visitors accompanied by guide and assistance dogs or a dog undergoing training.
Toilets
Toilets are on the ground floor next to the museum and on the first floor next to the library. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet in each floor which is separate from the male and female toilets.
There is also a Changing Places Toilet located outside at the rear of the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre. It can be opened using an MLAK key. If you don’t have one, you can pick up the key from the Wanneroo library (1st floor).
Access to the toilet is from Dundebar Road, and an ACROD parking bay is available at Dundebar Road with a brick pathway leading from there to the toilet.

Food
There are many cafes close to Wanneroo Regional Museum. Café Elixir is located in the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre, and there are food outlets at the Wanneroo Shopping Centre and Wanneroo Road area.
Food can’t be eaten inside the museum, but you can bring water bottles. You can eat in the Great Court foyer just at the front of the museum, or go to the nearby Bert Togno Park on clear days.
