How does this affect you?
All owners of heritage listed places are strongly encouraged to maintain and conserve their heritage places. Grants may be available to assist with conservation from the Heritage Council.
If you are the land owner of a place that is listed on the State Register of Places, any development application must be referred to the Heritage Council for approval and sent out for public consultation.
If you are the land owner of a place that is listed on the City’s Heritage List, heritage measures apply under the City’s District Planning Scheme No.2 and any development application must be referred to the Heritage Council for comment and sent out for public consultation.
If you are the land owner of a place that is listed on the City’s LHS with a management category of either 3 or 4, you are strongly encouraged to work with the City to conserve heritage elements of your property.
Demolition or alteration of places listed on the City’s LHS is discouraged.
