The Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program supports local governments to deliver priority projects to help communities recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
Phase 1
In May 2020, the City received $1,973,047 in funding under Phase 1 of the program and identified 12 priority projects that would benefit the community, including accessibility upgrades, new pathways, landscaping, tree planting, parking, lighting and playground enhancements at some of the City's facilities and reserves. These key projects are scheduled to be completed by 30 June 2021.

Phase 2
In October 2020, the Australian Government announced a $1 billion Phase 2 extension of the LRCI Program. Under the extension, the City received $6,789,256. This funding has been allocated to an additional 29 priority projects, which are scheduled to be completed by 31 December 2021.

Phase 3
In May 2021, the Australian Government announced a further $1 billion extension to the LRCI Program. Under this extension, the City received $3,946,094. This funding has been allocated to an additional 9 priority projects, which are scheduled to be completed by June 2023.
